Hochstein & Hochstein WIN Lewis & Clark Lake Walleye League Prestigious NTC Side-pot Fishing Tournament on Lewis and Clark Lake.

Yankton, SD, June 25th, 2024 – Team Hochstien and Hochstien, seasoned fisherman from Hartington, Nebraska, has emerged victorious in the highly competitive Lewis and Clark Lake Walleye League held on Lewis and Clark Lake, South Dakota. Known for its challenging waters and challenging circumstances, Lewis and Clark Lake attracted anglers from across the region to compete in this prestigious event.

Team Hochstien was able to anchor their 7.72lb bag with a 4.22lb 22” kicker to on what was deemed as tough bite with the recent flooding conditions. Only 14 legal sized walleyes were weighed-in the leagues Catch, Photo and Release format.  With most of the lake experiencing muddy water and a third of the lake covered with floating debris there was limited places to fish. Team Hochstien was able to put (3) walleyes to the measurement device giving them the first NTC Side pot win. This win qualifies them for a fully paid entry and plaques to the 2025 NTC on Lake Francis Case in June of 2025.

“We congratulate Kent and Reggie Hochstien on their impressive win,” said Brian Bashore, organizer of the Lewis & Clark Lake Walleye League. “Fishing these conditions was challenging for everyone so just catching a legal-size walleye was an achievement for most anglers.
