Cabela’s National Team Championship, Masters Walleye Circuit Tournaments Coming To St. Marys River

Ponca City, Okla.—August 19, 2013—Sault Ste. Marie welcomes a dual walleye tournament of epic proportions August 22-24, when the Cabela’s National Team Championship and Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit visit the scenic St. Marys River.

The walleye world’s premier grassroots championship, the Cabela’s NTC is comprised of teams that qualified through competition in local tournaments organized by sanctioned walleye clubs across the United States. Now in its 29th season, the Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit is the longest-running professional walleye tournament circuit in the United States. Continue reading

SWC 4th Cabela’s Qualifier Results

swc4As the days on the calendar approached July 21st, you could almost hear the anticipation building across the SWC members. Fishing Green Bay for big Walleye, in our final Cabelas Qualifying tournament of the season, with a Cableas NTC paid entry on the line through the TWF Side Pot. The 3 days prior to our event, the AIM boys and girls had been out on the Bay hauling in quality fish after quality fish weighing big CRR bags of weight. I think many of the members were anticipating a dog fight with big baskets of golden glistening walleye tipping the scales…… Well thank you once again Mother Nature! Big time cold front conditions set in and cold water and heavy current changed water temps and turned the Bay upside down and inside out, shutting off many of the areas that held schools of tournament Walleye from the previous week. Ohio Walleye Federation Holds 2nd Annual CBC Championship

The Ohio Walleye Federation held its annual 2-day CBC championship out of Ashtabula, OH on August 10th and 11th.  Twenty-three teams participated in the 100% payback championship.  Teams reported catching lots of fish, but finding and staying on the big fish amongst schools of walleyes which seemed to be miles long was the challenge.  At the end of the two days of competition the team of Gary Zart, Nicholas Zart and Joe Nadzam overcame more than a 3.5lb deficit over the day 1 leader’s Leigh, Leigh and Leigh with a 43.44lb day 2 weight to win the 2013 CBC Championship.  Continue reading
