Hope everyone is well. Again, the weather was discouraging. Gusty winds, dramatic temperature change, major storms Friday night and rain made for a very interesting day. Only 5 teams participated with only 7 keeper walleye weighted in. But in saying this we want to emphasize how tremendous the walleye bite was for short fish. Everyone who pre-fished and during the tournament were amazed at the 30 to 40, 8″ to 13″ walleye they caught. Along with sandbass, hybrids, crappie, channel cat and Edrum everyone was catching something. Looking at next year, surely the short fish will grow an inch or two and the bite will be on. Looking forward to returning next year as the lake is in tremendous shape, just hope the weather is a bit more cooperative.

Our next event will be the season ending Hank McWilliams Memorial 2-day Championship at Ute Lake New Mexico. The tournament will be Friday June 3rd & Saturday June 4th. As always we will have our pre-meeting at the Ruf-Nek, Kathy and Ben always have the coffee pot on, along with all the bait and other staples needed. Looking forward to being with them again. As usual I will send out a email a few days in advance with updates. That’s all for now.
God Bless, Be Safe & “Catch-a-Bigen”.
