The Ohio Walleye Federation – Mosquito Lake (Qualifier #2) Results
Streetsboro, OH – May 7, 2019
The Ohio Walleye Federation (OWF) held their 2nd qualifier at Mosquito Lake in Cortland, OH. Perfect weather conditions played into the hands of 39-boat field as they cashed in on an excellent bite. Using a variety of techniques, anglers brought some impressive tournament limit bags to the scales.
The team of Mitch Shipman and Rick Mulraney brought home the victory with a 5 fish limit weighing 19.59 lbs. Shipman & Mulraney started out trolling flicker shads but quickly noticed the fish were holding tight to a saved waypoint. Shipman & Mulraney decided to spot-lock on this waypoint and catch them vertically using jigs, Vib-e and jigging raps in 8-12fow.
The 2nd Place team of Tim Heslop was trolling snap weighted rapalas over weeds in 3-6fow weighing 18.76 lbs. The 3rd Place team of Adam Momirov and Southers weighed in 17.63 lbs. casting jerk baits over weeds in 4-8fow. The team of Marion Erb & Robert Burkholder brought in a 4th Place tournament limit bag of 16.64 lbs casting Berkley Gulp grubs outside the weeds in 6-10fow. Rounding out the top 5 was the team of Jeff Amon & Logan Barnby jigging up a 5 fish limit weighing 14.68 lbs. For more results, visit https://www.fishowf.com/2019-results.
