Yough Lake Tournament Recap – May 10, 2025

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and competed in both our Spring Open and Club Tournament this past Saturday on Yough Lake! With stable weather and great turnout, we saw some of the biggest bags we’ve ever weighed on the Yough.

We want to thank you for what you do to support the Nebraska Walleye Association and Fishing is Fun!  We held our first event at Calamus Reservoir last weekend.  Twenty-five teams competed in very tough conditions. High wind, rain and Hail.  A Kids fishing clinic was held for 22 kids on Saturday by Fishing is Fun. The instructors were tournament anglers. Overall, 119 walleyes were caught and released totaling 222.78 lbs with a 1.8 lb average.

What a great bite and a fun tournament this was! The 1^st and 2nd place teams were throwing plastics and some minnows! The 1^st and 2^nd place teams were separated by just .22 ounces. The 1^st place team was Steve Jones and Greg Renstrom!
