With minimal wind and gentle waves, the 2013 Harlan Anglers Walleye Club’s fishing tournament was a success. Forty-three two person teams competed this year. 134 Walleye were caught and weighed in at 381.73 pounds.

The Big Walleye, reeled in by Josh Cederburg of Axtell and netted by his partner Jason Martin of Texas, tipped the scale at 10.3 pounds. Continue reading

Hickman and Wilson Win NLWC at Lake Charlevoix

1st Place:  Dave Hickman and John Wilson                   5 fish       22.59 lbs

2nd Place:  Mark Jacobs and Todd Schryer                    5 fish       14.44 lbs

3rd Place:  Jeff Sydow and Dustin Saker                        5 fish       13.06 lbs

4th Place:  Anthony Taylor and Doug Blaskowski        5 fish       11.99 lbs

5th Place:  Raliegh Goodspeed and Abbie Southwell  5 fish       11.24 lbs 

Biggest Walleye:  Dave Hickman and John Wilson   6.41 lbs

“You better have five and they better be big,” was the word as Northern Lakes Walleye Club teams approached the scales.  The team of Dave Hickman and John Wilson used cranks on the big arm trolled in 18 feet of water and brought in an impressive basket of 22.59 pounds including the big fish tipping in at 6.41 pounds.  While most anglers worked the south arm pulling harnesses, they put together the winning pattern exploring new water and finding active fish.  The team of MWC pros Mark Jacobs and Todd Schryer placed 2nd with 14.44 pounds followed by Jeff “Big Daddy” Sydow and Dustin Saker with 13.06 lbs.

 

2013 WWA IL Qualifier Results 6-23-13

DSC_0111-2World Walleye Association (WWA) held its third Illinois qualifying tournament Sunday June 23rd. The team of NPAA member# 470, James McDonald (Grayslake, IL) and Ross Hosking (Hainsville, IL) took top honors with a five fish basket of 16.76 lbs that included a big fish of 6.18 lbs.  While the trolling bite seemed to produce lots of fish for most of the teams, McDonald and Hosking fished live bait under slip bobbers in shallow water and stayed busy culling fish most of the tournament day. WWA Illinois Qualifier Results 6-22-13

900-26World Walleye Association (WWA) held its second Illinois qualifying tournaments Saturday June 22nd. Tom Ingoglia (Antioch, IL) and Luke Krengiel (Ingleside, IL) took top honors with a six fish limit of 12.87 lbs that included a big fish of 6.06 lbs. This qualifier was also a TWF NTC side pot event where the 3rd place team Ed Klepacki (Wonder Lake, IL) and Jason Ramano took first place in the NTC side pot with their 6 fish limit totaling 11.82 Lbs. In addition to the prize money for 3rd place, the guys, through the NTC side pot, have won a paid entry and are already looking forward to the 2014 NTC tournament on Green Bay.
